Energy markets have calmed, but Czech households will have to wait for lower prices

Gas and electricity markets calmed after reports of a US-Iran agreement to end the war, and the so-called risk premium has gradually begun to disappear from prices. However, end-user prices will not change soon, as suppliers buy energy in advance. Low gas stocks in Europe are also holding back an early price drop. This is according to comments by analysts to the Czech News Agency (ČTK). They warned that the market remains sensitive because of frequent turns in the conflict in the Middle East.

Rapid reductions in gas or electricity prices cannot yet be expected despite the ceasefire, said XTB analyst Jiří Tyleček.
