Tensions between US and Iran push gas price higher, market tops €70

The wholesale gas price for the European market today exceeded 70 euros (1690 Kč) per megawatt-hour (MWh), reaching its highest level since March. Renewed fighting between the United States and Iran is contributing to rising oil prices and fuelling concerns over further delays to exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Persian Gulf, Euronews wrote.
The price of the October natural gas futures contract at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) virtual trading hub in the Netherlands rose to more than 70.60 euros per MWh in the afternoon, gaining around five percent. At around 15:15 CEST, the increase eased and the price stood just below 70 euros per MWh.
