Solar energy and storage 2026: 10th conference in Prague

On 26 and 27 May 2026, Forum Karlín in Prague will host the anniversary 10th edition of the Solar Energy and Storage in the Czech Republic 2026 conference, the largest professional event in photovoltaics, energy storage and modern energy. The programme will feature current topics in Czech energy and bring together key figures from the sector.

The Solar Association is organising the anniversary 10th edition of the Solar Energy and Storage in the Czech Republic 2026 conference, to be held on 26 and 27 May 2026 at Forum Karlín in Prague. The conference is among the key professional gatherings in photovoltaics, energy storage and modern energy in Czechia.

Czech energy is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Coal is being gradually phased out, renewable energy sources are expanding, and energy storage, flexibility and modern technologies are becoming increasingly important. These changes are reflected in legislation, grid connection processes and project economics, and this year's conference programme responds to them.

The conference will feature a number of prominent guests from politics, regulation and the energy sector. The opening discussion will include Karel Havlíček, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Miroslav Plevný, senator and chairman of the Committee on Economy, Agriculture and Transport. They will be joined by Jan Krčmář, executive director of the Solar Association, and Jan Fousek, chairman of the board of the Solar Association, who will open discussions on the future direction of Czech energy and its regulatory framework.

The programme will offer eight thematic blocks covering the entire modern energy sector. It will focus on permitting and connecting photovoltaic power plants and battery energy storage systems (PV and BESS), project financing, operating economics, new flexibility business models, agrivoltaics, technological innovation and energy system security.

A significant part of the programme will also be devoted to the future operation of older photovoltaic power plants, particularly projects commissioned between 2008 and 2010, and their continued operation after 2030, including technology lifecycle and recycling issues.

Over the two days, representatives of public administration, the regulator, the banking sector, investors and technology companies will take the stage. Confirmed speakers include Tomáš Nidetzký, Petr Valdman, Marián Belyuš, David Šafář, Darina Merdassi, Michal Petřek and Petr Boháč. The expert discussions will also be complemented by international guests and technology experts focused on battery storage, flexibility and agrivoltaics.

The conference will provide space for expert discussions, sharing experience and networking across the entire sector.
