Temelín to take second unit offline for several days for turbine adjustment

The Temelín nuclear power plant will take its second unit offline for several days. Engineers want to adjust a turbine that was vibrating too much, forcing the plant to take the second unit offline for a few hours on Tuesday. Plant spokesperson Marek Sviták told the Czech News Agency (ČTK) today.

Engineers now want to adjust the turbine’s horizontal guide, which allows it to move as it heats up. The current setting leaves little clearance, which caused the recent increase in turbine vibration.
