ČEPS completes V460 line upgrade in Czech Moravian-Silesian Region

The Czech transmission system operator has completed, as planned, the modernisation of the V460 line connecting the Nošovice and Albrechtice substations in the Moravian-Silesian Region. This investment project took approximately six months and, among other things, further strengthened the transmission system in the region.

The modernisation of the V460 line included the replacement of pylons, including their foundations, as well as phase conductors, earth wires and insulator strings. The investment project, worth approximately Kč 400 million, increased the line's transmission capacity by around half, improving its readiness for a possible increase in electricity transit flows in the future.

“By reconstructing V460, we have strengthened the reliability of electricity supplies in the Moravian-Silesian Region, while also taking another step in preparing the Czech transmission system for growing demands in the energy sector, not only in the Czech Republic but also across Europe,” said Stanislav Votruba, a member of the ČEPS board responsible for the Transmission System Administration, Operation and Maintenance Division.

The 16.5 km-long V460 line, together with the Albrechtice substation and the V443 line, provides an international interconnection with Polish transmission system operator PSE.
