Czech Post tests deliveries with electric vehicles

Czech Post has become a new partner in the ČEZ Group’s Electromobility project. It has been loaned two electric vehicles for six months of testing, primarily for delivering parcels and letters.
The Electromobility project is continuously evolving and expanding. It currently operates 54 public charging stations, 10 of which are fast-charging stations. In addition to charging stations, the number of partners is also growing. The latest is Czech Post, which will test two electric vehicles for six months.
„We are pleased that it is the nationwide Czech Post that will test electric vehicles. Through its use and promotion of electromobility, it is setting an example for other entities in infrastructure services, which are among the typical users of this form of clean transport.“

Electric vehicles can reduce delivery costs
The keys to both electric vehicles were received by Aleš Pospíšil, director of Czech Post’s asset management division. Czech Post’s vehicle fleet has thus gained two new members: the Nissan eNV200 and Peugeot Partner Electric.
„Czech Post has one of the largest corporate vehicle fleets in the Czech Republic. Their operation represents a significant cost item in the Post’s budget. We are therefore looking for alternatives that would be cheaper to operate. Electric vehicles are one option for reducing the cost of deliveries to our customers. This is why we joined the testing of two vehicles under ČEZ’s programme.“

Electric vehicle sales in Europe rose 49% year on year. Around 900 electric vehicles are on the road in the Czech Republic, with just under 40 forming the fleet of ČEZ’s Electromobility project and its partners.
