Survey: Interest in electric cars in Poland has risen in recent years

Interest in electric cars in Poland has risen in recent years. More than three times as many Poles are now considering buying an electric car as four years ago. According to the PAP news agency, this is shown by a survey whose results were published by the Association for New Mobility (PSNM). In the latest survey, 24 percent of respondents expressed interest in buying an electric car, compared with just seven percent in 2020.

The high purchase price continues to deter many Poles from buying an electric car. Nevertheless, the survey found that many are willing to pay more for an electric model than for the same model with a petrol engine.

Nearly three-quarters of respondents said they would consider switching to an electric version only if it cost no more than 10,000 zlotys (roughly CZK 59,000) more than the petrol version.

According to the survey, more than half of Poles believe that falling electric car prices would be a key factor that could change their attitude and persuade them to buy an electric car.
