Tesla has deployed 10,000 Superchargers worldwide, but few can be found in Czechia

Tesla Motors has brought its 10,000th Supercharger into operation in the US. Most Superchargers are located in the US; in the Czech Republic, Superchargers can currently be found at only three locations. It should be added that Tesla is several months behind schedule even on this target, as 10,000 Superchargers were meant to be operational by the end of last year.

Tesla, the company founded by entrepreneur Elon Musk, is not only working to speed up production of the Model 3, which is intended for the mass market, but is also significantly expanding its charging station network.

Elon Musk appears to be well aware of one of the main problems facing electric mobility. Underdeveloped infrastructure remains an obstacle to the use of electric vehicles over longer distances.

As is customary for Tesla, this target has not been met according to the original schedule either. According to the company’s original statements, ten thousand Superchargers were to have been deployed worldwide by the end of last year.

The milestone was reached thanks to a new station with twenty Superchargers in the Canadian city of Belleville, Ontario. As a result, there are now 1261 charging stations worldwide in total (each comprising several Superchargers).

According to founder Elon Musk, the company has another approximately 1000 Superchargers in the permitting or construction phase. It can also be assumed that some newly built stations will be fitted with so-called V3 Superchargers, which are expected to offer even better charging performance.

In addition, the new version of the Superchargers should be able to work much better with Powerpack batteries and solar panels. These are already installed at some Superchargers, so it can be expected that Tesla is moving in this direction and that an increasing number of Superchargers will be connected to photovoltaic panels and batteries.

According to Tesla’s official map, a total of 22 Superchargers are deployed in the Czech Republic at three stations: on the D1 motorway near Humpolec, in Prague and in Olomouc.
