Czech Elevion Group, part of ČEZ, buys Italian waste processing company Maserati Energia

Elevion Group, part of the ČEZ Group, has bought a majority stake in Italian biodegradable waste processing company Maserati Energia. The company operates biogas plants and gas-fired CHP units in Italy, connected to the TAL oil pipeline. ČEZ spokesperson Martin Schreier told the Czech News Agency (ČTK) today. The acquisition was also reported by Italian newspaper Il Piacenza. The company has not disclosed the price."The acquisition concerns a facility focused on processing and recovering value from biodegradable waste. In Italy, Elevion Group offers decarbonisation solutions that increase energy efficiency. In addition to biogas plants, it also operates gas-fired CHP units there. These assets are part of the Italian section of the TAL oil pipeline, where they help improve the operating efficiency of the pipeline's pumps, increase its transport capacity towards the Czech Republic and strengthen the country's energy independence," Schreier said.
Elevion Group's entry into Maserati Energia is part of the company's investment plan, which, according to the Italian newspaper, envisages investments of 250 million euros (more than six billion crowns) in Italy by 2030. The aim of the acquisition is to cover the entire green gas production chain in the region.

Elevion Group bought the majority stake from Paolo Maserati, who will remain a minority shareholder in the company. The company's employees will also transfer to the Czech company.
Elevion Group focuses on integrated energy services (ESCO), particularly energy-saving and environmentally friendly measures. It operates mainly in Germany, Poland, Romania and northern Italy. It currently comprises 60 companies. Each year, it delivers more than 6000 projects, including modernising energy and heating systems, upgrading lighting, conducting energy audits, building decentralised energy sources and implementing energy-saving projects. It is part of the ČEZ Group.
