ČEPS to support Czech regions hit by floods

Czech transmission system operator ČEPS will donate a total of CZK 5.1 million to regions dealing with the aftermath of this year's floods. The funds will be provided through the ČEPS Donations Programme as part of a special call for support for the recovery of regions after the floods.
The call is aimed at the five regions worst affected by the floods in September 2024: Moravian-Silesian, Olomouc, Zlín, South Bohemian and South Moravian. The funds will go to education, healthcare and social services, helping to cover essential repairs and replace interior furnishings, such as furniture and medical equipment.
„This year's floods turned many people's lives upside down and caused enormous damage. Despite great efforts, returning to normal life is difficult, so I am very pleased that support from the ČEPS Donations Programme will make things a little easier for the affected hospitals, secondary schools, children's home and home for people with disabilities,“ said Martin Durčák, chairman of the board of ČEPS, a. s.„We have prepared programmes to help businesses restore their operations. These include interest-free loans and guarantees for acquiring new technologies, investing in infrastructure or purchasing production equipment. In addition, during the floods, we worked with the Integrated Rescue System and other institutions to quickly restore electricity supplies and provide businesses with the necessary support in dealing with the aftermath of the floods,“ said Minister of Industry and Trade Lukáš Vlček, adding: „I would like to thank ČEPS for this initiative, which will help the regions with education, healthcare and social services.“
ČEPS has long been active in corporate social responsibility. Through its Donations Programme, it supports hundreds of projects each year. Its focus is mainly on charitable and humanitarian aid, the development of technical education, support for sport for children, young people and people with disabilities, the development of regional culture and environmental protection. In the past, the company has also launched several special calls in connection with COVID-19.
