Wind farms could be built near the D4 motorway in the Příbram region. ČEZ Obnovitelné zdroje has approached several municipalities and has so far secured cooperation agreements with Višňová and Pečice. The company has offered to build two wind turbines in each municipality’s cadastral area, but the plans are still to be discussed, ČEZ spokesperson Martin Schreier told the Czech News Agency (ČTK) in response to a query. Wind farms could also be built in Starosedlský Hrádek, for example. The municipality has called a referendum on a proposal by PRE, which will be held on 17 January.

Višňová Mayor Kateřina Barker (independent) declined to comment on the possible construction of the turbines for now. According to Pečice Deputy Mayor Jan Burian (independent), it will first be assessed whether construction is possible in the municipality at all. He said the project had not met with opposition from local residents.
