Strong winds leave 2,000 households without power in Czechia’s Chrudim region

Strong winds in the Pardubice Region overnight into today uprooted trees that fell across roads and also caused damage to the power grid. Problems are mainly in the Chrudim area, where hundreds of households were left without power. This morning, 2,000 households in the Chrudim area were without electricity. Spokespeople for the fire service and ČEZ told the Czech News Agency (ČTK).

Energy workers are repairing the faults, but strong winds continue. The weather warning remains in force until this evening, with gusts reaching 55 to 70 kilometers per hour. This morning, there were three faults on high-voltage lines and one on a low-voltage line. „We will try to repair the faults during the course of today,“ ČEZ spokesperson Šárka Lapáčková said.
