SEFY Czech Republic enters the apartment-building solar market

SEFY Czech Republic s.r.o., the highest-rated company in the photovoltaic power plant installation sector for three years running according to independent portal Refsite, is now entering the market for solar PV for apartment buildings.

A cautious move into a new segment

“We spent a long time considering how to enter this segment. We knew that installing a power plant on an apartment building is a completely different undertaking from working on family homes or businesses—it involves more complex design, construction and commissioning. And because quality delivery and client satisfaction are essential to us, we did not want to rush into apartment buildings and risk the reputation we have built over the years,” says Ing. Miroslav Mikeš, managing director of SEFY Czech Republic s.r.o.

A new division for apartment buildings

At the turn of 2024/2025, SEFY completed its first projects on apartment buildings, using them to test the entire process in detail. Drawing on that experience, it has now established a new specialist division focused exclusively on this segment, bringing together experts with many years of industry experience.

“We have already completed more than 10 initial installations on different types of roofs, with different connection arrangements and storage options. I am convinced that this gradual, careful approach will allow us to bring the exceptional quality of our services to apartment buildings too,” adds Ing. Mikeš, who is also a member of the board of the CAFT association.

Stability without deposits

SEFY has also decided to go against common market practice: it will not collect any deposits from clients when contracts are signed.

“At a time when many large suppliers are going out of business and the market is experiencing its sharpest downturn in years, we want to demonstrate our stability. We believe a financially healthy company should not rely on client deposits, but on its own resources. These allow us to operate over the long term, even when the market fluctuates,” adds Ing. Mikeš.

Groundbreaking A-Z ROUTER Cloud monitoring

SEFY is also the only supplier on the market offering A-Z ROUTER Cloud—an intelligent and transparent energy consumption management system used by more than 20 000 family homes in Czechia, now also available for apartment buildings.

Each apartment connected to a PV system will therefore have its own overview of energy generation, consumption and sharing within the building. With modern controls and adaptive optimisation, the system maximises the use of generated energy and reduces operating costs.

What comes next

A new system for fair electricity cost allocation will also be implemented by the end of 2025, including for electricity from PV systems when points of delivery are consolidated. This will significantly simplify and improve billing for each apartment.
