Turn a profit. Use AI to manage your Czech solar plant and heat pump!

If you have decided to install a solar power plant, the most cost-effective option is to combine its installation and operation with a heat pump. Why? You simply multiply the benefits of generating your own electricity: depending on its efficiency, the heat pump delivers several times more kW than it needs to operate. This means you save even more and increase your energy independence.

When investing in a solar power plant, you should always consider how comprehensive your energy system will be and, above all, make decisions with a view not just to the years ahead, but rather to the decades ahead. On average, a solar panel loses 0.5 % of its efficiency each year. Make a list of your needs: where and how you use energy today, what your current heating source is, and what plans you have for the coming years. Think about whether you are considering buying an electric car, planning to build a heated swimming pool, or perhaps a sauna of your own. Would you like to help your household budget further by selling surplus electricity, turning a negative monthly balance into income on your electricity bill each month? You may then find that your needs look somewhat different from what you originally had in mind.

Synergy and efficiency of solar power and heat pumps

One of the most efficient energy solutions for households is a combination of a solar power plant and a heat pump. The solar power plant generates electricity from the sun, which, in addition to powering household appliances, you can use to run the heat pump. This is more efficient than direct heating with electricity generated by the solar power plant. The reason is simple: based on its heating factor, or COP (Coefficient of Performance), the heat pump produces a given amount of heat for every 1 kW of energy consumed. COP therefore expresses the ratio between the heat produced and the energy consumed. For example, a COP of 3,5 kW means that for every 1 kW of energy consumed, you get 3,5 kW of heat in return. The latest range of revolutionary Schlieger PremiumPRO heat pumps has a COP of up to 5,03 (*see the detailed overview in the table below). So if, for example, you use an electric boiler for heating and water heating, combining solar power with a heat pump could ideally save you up to 80 % of your heating costs.

Artificial intelligence will turn you into a professional energy market broker

The benefits to your household budget need not be limited to direct energy savings: you can also sell any surplus electricity on the spot market at current prices. Of course, it is unthinkable for an ordinary user to sit in front of a computer all day, monitoring electricity prices as they change hour by hour and making informed predictions about how supply and demand, the weather, or the time of year will affect prices. But artificial intelligence can do that, because Schlieger solar power plant components are A.I.-ready and designed to work with the Schlieger Smart A.I.Box, a smart device that uses artificial intelligence (A.I.). It can, for example, map household usage patterns, monitor weather forecasts, optimize energy consumption, charge battery storage when spot prices are favorable, or sell electricity when feed-in prices are high. According to Schlieger's calculations, artificial intelligence (A.I.) can shorten the payback period for solar investments by up to a further 30 %!

Smart energy

One component that can work with A.I. and manage the sale and purchase of electricity is the Schlieger Asymo Hybrid three-phase asymmetrical inverter. It distributes alternating current unevenly across the individual phases and also allows you to connect battery storage, such as the Schlieger Power H. This is a modular “Plug & Play” battery with LiFePO4 technology, which you can easily expand from 11,23 kWh to a capacity of 93,5 kWh. Essentially, you stack individual battery modules on top of one another like boxes. Power H guarantees more than 6 000 discharge cycles, with the battery cells' long service life ensured by strict manufacturing processes. This battery is also A.I.-ready and can be used to buy and sell electricity on the spot market. You may be wondering why we would buy electricity. For example, there can generally be a shortage of electricity during the winter, or you may not be able to cover your own consumption with solar power. In that case, you will need to draw energy from the grid. The Schlieger A.I. Box can buy this energy for you in advance at a better price, perhaps at night while you are asleep, so you do not have to pay for more expensive electricity during the day—but of course, it needs somewhere to store it.

Don't forget about mobility

When you purchase a solar power plant system, be sure not to forget an electric car charger, even if you do not yet own an electric car. Thanks to the NZÚ subsidy program, for example, the Schlieger Dualpoint Smart charging station, which can charge up to two electric cars at once (2 x 22 kW), costs just three thousand crowns.

Make use of subsidies

When purchasing a combined solar power plant and heat pump solution, you can also take advantage of state subsidy programs. Both devices are eligible for state support, so you can save significantly when purchasing them. But remember that the current subsidy amounts are guaranteed until 31. 1. 2024. Of course, you do not have to research all the details of the subsidy programs yourself; you can contact a Schlieger representative directly, and they will be happy to advise you on choosing a solution and financing it.
