Households in Prague 4 again have heating and hot water after fault repaired

Heat and hot water supplies to around 11,000 households in Prague 4 were restored overnight. Pavel Maďar from the commercial division of Pražská teplárenská told ČTK today. Technicians repaired the hot water pipeline fault that caused the outage.

"Supplies were fully restored overnight today, as expected," Maďar said.

Tuesday's outage affected Michle, Krč, Pankrác, Nusle and Podolí. It also affected schools and social care facilities. Some schools cancelled part of their classes as a result. Prague, like the rest of Czechia, experienced freezing weather on Tuesday.

Maďar had previously said that the current hot water pipeline fault was on the same pipeline route as a fault last November, which left around 15,000 households in Pankrác, Podolí, Krč and part of Nusle in Prague 4 without heating and hot water for roughly two days.

However, the two faults were not directly related. According to Maďar, Pražská teplárenská has been gradually repairing the district heating distribution network in this area since 1998.
