Power outage cripples Prague 5 and 6, problem at two substations

The power outage in Prague is affecting the left bank of the Vltava, particularly Prague 5 and Prague 6. Karel Hanzelka, spokesperson for Pražská energetika (PRE), told the Czech News Agency (ČTK). He said the cause was a technical problem at two substations. The outage should not last long, he added. Firefighters said they had responded to several incidents involving rescuing people from elevators in connection with the current power outage.

"There is a technical problem at the Červený vrch and Západ substations, but I have been told by colleagues that it should not take long, and we will reconnect the area shortly," Hanzelka said.
